- How far is lone pine koala sanctuary from Brisbane? Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is located approximately 12 km from Brisbane’s CBD. The Brisbane River Cruise will take you from the Cultural Centre Pontoon in South Bank to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in about one hour and 15 minutes. The most convenient and scenic way to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is on a Brisbane River Cruise. Boasting 70 years of operation, this iconic journey cruises past lush inner-city parks and posh riverside suburbs. Informative commentary covers Brisbane’s fascinating history while you soak up the views. The Brisbane River cruise departs and returns to the Cultural Centre Pontoon in South Bank.
- How long should I spend at Lone Pine koala sanctuary? As the world’s biggest koala park, it’s worth taking your time to meet the wildlife at Lone Pine. After alighting from the Brisbane River Cruise, you will have three hours to explore the sanctuary before jumping back on board and sailing back to the city centre.
- What animals are at Lone Pine koala sanctuary? Although koalas are the undisputed stars of the show, you’ll meet an array of other cuddly (and not so cuddly) native creatures at Lone Pine. Crowd favourites include emus, kangaroos, and platypus. You’ll also see scaly reptiles like lizards, frogs, and snakes, plus colourful birdlife such as cockatoos, parrots, and owls.
- Day passes are valid for booking dates only

- Day passes include entry to the sanctuary and attendance at complimentary shows and activities.
- Footwear and appropriate clothing must be worn at all times.
- Lone Pine reserves the right to refuse entry and eject persons from the Sanctuary.
- Lone Pine Management has the authority to close the sanctuary or any part thereof, including any animal exhibit or show, at any time management deems necessary and will not be liable for any loss or expense occurred by a visitor as the result of such closure. Lone Pine will try their best effort to advise visitors of any changes to shows or exhibits prior to entry.
- Visitors must obey all notices, signs, and directions given by staff.

Lots of informative and fun activities and a good place to spend time.
The sanctuary was well-maintained and the staff was quite friendly. I really enjoyed the activities throughout the day. The layout was quite nice and the directions are clear and actually accurate. It is a good place to spend five hours and I really enjoyed it.

This place is a fun little zoo with a heaps of Aussie animals. Would be great for the young ones and you can also pat the barn animal’s, kangaroos and emus for free.
Enjoyable small zoo with Aussie animals. Sometimes these smaller zoos are more enjoyable as you can get a lot closer to the animals. You can feed and pat the kangaroos and emus in the open field which would be the highlight of this park. Would recommend for family’s with young kids.

My family and I had so much fun feeding the kangaroos and have a hugging photo session with a koala 🫶
If you ever travel to Brisbane, you should definitely check out this small zoo! We spent a long time staying with the kangaroos and feeding them. By the entrance they have the donate box, so you can choose how much you are donating for the animals and get a bag of kangaroo food.
